			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>Today&#8217;s post comes from one of my clients.  Her success story is similar to many women I encounter.  She has two kids but found herself unhappy with her body.  Determined to lose weight and become comfortable in her own skin, she set out to get in shape and become healthy.  I wanted to share her story to help inspire those of you out there who feel like they need that extra push to begin their own fitness journey.</p>
<p></em>When I started The Get in Shape Workout Plan in March of 2012 I was 145 at 5&#8217;3 and very unhappy. I knew I was overweight and my clothes didn&#8217;t fit like they used to, but I was still in denial of how I actually looked.</p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t <em>really</em> know until I took that first picture (the before picture.)  Uggh, I was horrified at what I looked like.  I have always been someone that struggled with weight but would always go up and down by about ten pounds.</p>
<p>When I met my husband, 14 years ago, I was 123 pounds.</p>
<p>When I got pregnant with my first son, who is now seven, I was 129. After I got rid of the baby weight I made it down to 131 pounds.</p>
<p>Then I had another son, who is three, and stayed around 135 to 138.</p>
<p>I was not happy two years ago and did a lot of unhealthy dieting-anything from the 500 calories a day to just eating an apple all day and exercising.  Sure I lost 15 pounds, but it came back in less then six months.</p>
<p>Which brings us to March of 2012, when I was weighing in around 145. I was searching some Facebook pages and saw a friend of mine had liked a bikini fitness girl’s page so I checked her page out.  That is where I saw a picture of Kyra on her Get in Shape Girl page.   So I then clicked that and read about her and her life change throught weight loss and other success stores of her clients.</p>
<p>I was sold.  I signed up and started immediately.  My husband made a comment to me about a month into her program about how proud he was that I was doing it and how excited I was about it all.  <strong>Kyra showed me that this lifestyle is not dieting, it is just a better way of eating.  The RIGHT way of eating. </strong> Everything is yummy and easy to cook and fun to cook.</p>
<p>This has changed my life and the way I look at food as well as the relationship I have with food.  I love to come up with clean foods to cook on my own from what I have learned from Kyra.  I have gone from a girl that could eat a bag of  Cool Ranch Doritos to a girl that can eat a bowl full of broccoli and be happy with that.  <strong>I have gone from 145 to 134 with kyra giving me the tools that I need to be happy.  </strong></p>
<p>I have goals now- healthy ones!  My two biggest goals are: to compete in the Miss Universe Bikini competition next June in Miami, FL; and to become a personal trainer.  I would never have thought about either of those if I had not have found Kyra, The Get in shape Girl!!!</p>

<p><em>Over the course of the last 6 months we have been working together (and that is 100% accurate &#8211; we work together to find what meal plan(s) and workout routines suit her best) she has lost 10 pounds of straight fat.  You can see how much smaller she has gotten overall and you can see that the girl is STRONG.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Although Kyra is my “virtual trainer” she has also been one of my closest friends for over ten years. In our early 20’s we used to drink and party and eat whatever we wanted. We were also very lazy vegetarians: eating pizza and chips and drinking beer. We didn’t think much about our weights. The college years are transitional phases in everyone’s life. People’s bodies change; they move away from their homes and sometimes it’s hard to maintain a healthy weight.  My weight was steadily increasing through college and I couldn’t stop it. At  a solid 160 lbs., I had let myself get really out of shape. I remember crying at the doctor’s office. In high school, I ran track and I weighed about 120 lbs during my teenage years.</p>
<p>In my early 20’s, I was jamming myself into my clothes, feeling depressed about the way I looked. I would throw away pictures of myself and sometimes I felt “too fat” to leave the house. I never wanted to go to a beach or wear a dress. I had no confidence. I had a pain in my knee when I tried to jog and the doctor told me to lose 10 lbs and the pain would subside. That really spoke to me. My weight was becoming a health problem. I slowly began to get back into shape doing yoga and Kyra had begun her wild fitness adventure, which I kept a close watch on, asking her for advice. Another crucial part to getting fit for me was diet. I had no idea what to eat.</p>

<p>Kyra gave me Tosca Reno’s “Clean Eating” Cookbook and it changed my life. I suddenly began to watch what I ate: especially breakfast. I used The Get in Shape Girl’s workouts and her suggestions and began hitting the gym hard. I wasn’t sure how to effectively lift weights and I didn’t know that I need to get my heart rate up: the importance of a good sweat and most importantly: that WORKING OUT IS FUN. It is also hard work and the important thing to remember is not to get discouraged. I had to learn how to LIVE differently. Some days were harder than others. And when I’ve slipped up and pigged out, I just hit the gym hard the next day and kept moving forward. This transition took a lot of time and patience and learning how to cook.</p>
<p>Then came the competition. Again, on Kyra’s suggestion that we work on competing together, I decided to step it up. A year ago I was still about 140 lbs., in decent shape for my 5’8” frame, but I wanted to be really toned. I used the “Bikini Competitor’s Cookbook” along with the help of a diet coach. Kyra and I both began to train really hard, instituting workouts from her site and Crossfit. I shed 16 lbs over the 6-8 months (I was already eating clean but I still wasn’t watching portions). I have maintained my weight at a much healthier, much fitter 131 lbs. and I feel great.</p>
<p>The Get in Shape Girl is not just another fitness coach you read about online and follow her advice. Kyra is a true friend and an awesome motivator. She has changed my life. I have so much energy, I am cooking awesome meals and I want to compete again in the future. What is more: I look younger, I feel great naked and I get excited to wear bathing suits. Women approach me in airports and bars wanting to know “how I got my arms to look like that.” Women come to ME at the gym and ask for help. I never imagined that would happen. And yes, I know I look a lot better, but the honest truth is, I FEEL really good. My energy is great: I bounce out of bed, I eat five or six small, delicious meals, that I make and I am generally happier. And my knee works just fine. Thank you, Kyra!</p>

<p>I look back and think if I would’ve just stayed the course and not gone off the deep end so many times – where I could be NOW!</p>

<p>Today: 113.8</p>

<p><strong>My goals are not to compete&#8230; or look like a model.. they are simply to feel good in my own skin&#8230; I feel I&#8217;m finally getting there.</strong></p>
<p>They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well I have to say – you cant see all of my progress from these photos! Let me explain:</p>
<p>You can’t see all of the definition I have when I move. Like the definition in my calves &amp; my thighs when I walk. <strong>My back looks so strong, and my arms…. now when I raise my arm there is no ‘fluff’ the little under arm jiggle/wiggle is gone</strong> – NOW there is a line where my bicep now resides. (-:</p>
<p><strong>You can&#8217;t see the reduction of cellulite I have.</strong> It used to be form the knees up, and my ass was just – bleh! haha, now I just have a couple of dimples. I’ve had cellulite since I was 15… it has always been so embarrassing to me, so getting rid of 90% of it…that is a HUGE accomplishment for me! (-:</p>
<p>You cant see that I am stronger. I upped my weight across the board. <strong>I am no longer intimidated to pick up the heavier weight first. Even if I get just 2-3 good reps with a higher weight – I got for it. I tear it up like an animal now, it feels amazing!</strong></p>
<p>I picked up a weight I used to lift the other day… it felt like I picked up a piece of paper! I could’ve swung that thing around all day and never felt it. I can hardly believe I used to use that weight!</p>
<p>You cant see how my clothes fit me. <strong>At 114 I am wearing jeans I wore when I was 108</strong> <strong>– that seems crazy right! How can 114 fit into jeans that I could only fit in at 108… *AND* I look better in them than I did at 108!</strong> That proves that a number on the scales totally does NOT tell the whole story!</p>
<p>The last thing you cant see in these photos – is perhaps the best of all&#8230;.</p>
<p><strong>My friends and family ask me for help and advice.</strong> My hubby, my mom and two of my best friends are now all on a workout program and have changed their diets to be more clean &amp; healthy! That is the BEST feeling of all!</p>
<p>Its different when people compliment you, say you look great, etc. – but when they come to you for advice, recipes, guidance, help – for me, THATS where its AT! It makes me feel SO good to help and to I know I must be doing something RIGHT if people are looking to me for that advice. (-: Couldn’t be happier!</p>
<p>I still have progress to make, I am in no way ‘perfect’  – I am not 100% happy with my lower body, I have goals to get leaner and firm up my booty. I have goals for myself – it takes time, I know it will be frustrating and will seem like its taking forever, but I also know it will be worth it in the end!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>I have had the pleasure of training and becoming friends with a lovely lady named Teri.  We met a few months back and she was looking to get REALLY fit.  She is a working mother so doesn&#8217;t always have the most time.  She had been working out and eating pretty well before, but really was looking to take it to the next level.  Here&#8217;s her story&#8230;</em></p>
<p>I found The Get in Shape Girl from blog hopping back in March. I was looking high and low for the ticket to look like all these fit, flat stomached girls. Why was I working so hard, spending 8-10 hours in the gym a week and still looking chunky? What was I doing wrong? I spent hours looking, reading and hoping something was going to work. Well, I started reading The Get in Shape Girl&#8217;s blog and I spent an hour or so reading through all her posts. Funny, knowledgeable, used to be heavy, and she is setting goals like a bikini competition and half marathons? This girl is the real deal. I started corresponding with her right away. She was alwas quick to answer my questions, and give guidance. <strong>She was my first real friend in fitness.</strong></p>
<p>I started training with her in April, and by July&#8230; well the pictures tell the story. <strong>She changed my life.</strong> Yes, I had to control what I put in my mouth. Yes, I had to get my butt to the gym everyday and actually do the workout she wrote for me. But I did it with my own personal chearleader rooting for me in the back ground, the whole time.</p>
<div><strong>The workouts were pretty hardcore.</strong> I am a bootcamp instructor and have been involved in fitness most of my life. I have always known my way around a gym and have done lots of intense training. The GISG workouts were a great mixture of cardio moves with hardcore weight lifting, which I loved! I loved mostly because it taught me that I could CHANGE the way my body looked by lifting heavy, and not just shrink it from all that boring ol cardio I used to do. I had several people come up to me in the middle of my circuits and ask what &#8220;sort&#8221; of workout I was doing. I would laugh and let them in on the secret&#8230; &#8220;<strong>My get in shape girl workout.&#8221;</strong></div>

<div><strong>They cut my gym time in half.</strong> Literally. I was doing almost 2 hours most days of the week before I hooked up with the gisg. She taught me to workout smarter, not longer. My progress pics do the talking, IT WORKS!!</div>
<div><strong>The coaching was AMAZING.</strong> Seriously. People might think I am a bit obsessive when I get on the subject of Kyra. I couldn&#8217;t believe how willing she was to help me! Answer any little tiny dumb question and for free. I mean, 50 bucks a month is nothing when I had almost instanct access to her feedback. She was always encouraging and set the bar high for me. She didn&#8217;t put up with bull crap from me or others. I heard her say to someone one time that <strong>we all have excuses&#8230;.. but none are good enough.</strong> And she was right. <strong>There is never an excuse to not take the best care of our bodies</strong>, it is the only one we are going to get. The other biggest thing for me, as an AVID gym goer is that Kyra fits the part. She lifts heavy, she runs fast, she has done a competition. I am so sick of these in the house trainers who are training people who aren&#8217;t fit and in shape. Period. You don&#8217;t fit the part, don&#8217;t talk to me&#8211; end of story.</div>

<p>I loved that she had email, facebook and her blog. So if I wasn&#8217;t actually talking to her through a message,<strong> I still felt like I was in contact with her.</strong> Like I said, if I posted to her wall I almost always had a response in 5 minutes or less. Now, I know she needs a life besides just work, and it is obvious she works a TON&#8230; so remember to cut her some slack if she isn&#8217;t instantaneous&#8230; she has to get her sweat on too right?! I also loved the facebook group. I got actively involved in that and have met some great girls that I actually correspond with on my own. I live in Idaho, and the girls I chit chat it up with are in Texas, California, North Carolina, and Washington. Networking. It has helped keep me in line and pushing myself harder, farther and faster.</p>
<p>If I had one thing to tell you&#8211; I&#8217;d say, &#8220;<strong>she changed my life, and you can&#8217;t afford to not let her change yours</strong>.&#8221; I am now in intense preperation for my first figure competition in 4 months. Me, the girl who was always the pretty face, with a spare tire around her mid section.</p>
<p>[Now that I'm] training for a figure competition is ABSOLUTLY due to working with Kyra. I never would have even thought about it. She taught me, that real girls, who have struggled with their weight all their lives can make a DECISION to change who they are, and they can become that girl that they always looked at and wanted to be. She has taught me that I can do hard things and with diligence, dedication, and the decision to make it happen&#8230; it CAN be done.</p>
